The corporate tax structure in NYS has improved steadily over the past several years. While often considered high compared to other states, taxes have been curbed, even reduced in the past few years. These changes have improved the business climate in NYS.
Through incentive packaging, some relief of taxes can be provided to corporations on an individual basis. The Empire Zone program also offers tax credits and reductions for businesses located in a designated Empire Zone. Other credits are offered through energy reducing programs administered by NYSERDA, among others.
